Founded in 733 AD, the ancient Jindaiji Temple is an unhurried sanctuary enveloped within Tokyo’s Chofu neighborhood. The temple grounds contain multiple worship halls, a Treasure House with artifacts, towering trees, and gorgeously maintained gardens and koi ponds ideal for mindful strolls.


Savor the holy hush while admiring moss-covered stone statues and following trails under a canopy of maples and gingkoes. Pause to feed the plump colorful koi fish or meditate in a garden alcove. Make a wish by ringing the bell at the ordination platform.
