Rattlesnake Mountain


Just over 4 miles roundtrip, the hike to Rattlesnake Ledge ascends through maple and Douglas fir forests before emerging onto an exposed rocky cliff 1,160 feet above Rattlesnake Lake.


The ledge showcases breathtaking uninterrupted views across the sparkling lake to the surrounding Cedar River Mountains, with Mount Si looming above the evergreen forests across the valley. Relax on sunny granite slabs, perfect for a snack stop with a panorama.


With moderate effort, this trail delivers alpine scenery usually only accessible by longer high-country treks. It's a quintessential Washington hike with grand vistas available close to Seattle.


What You Need to Know: Rattlesnake Ledge Trailhead is accessed from I-90 near North Bend. Northwest Forest Pass required. Very crowded on weekends.
